That's good to hear, thanks for sharing Frank! My go-to polyomino game for non-gamers has been New York Zoo, the animals and breeding adds a lot of fun there. But I can see what you mean that if non-gamers handle the basic rules of Planet Unknown, then they would enjoy the lazy Susan, rover moving, and track advancement that come with it.

BTW, Nick - I also own Planet Unknown, but my experience with "newbies" and those who only enjoy light, social card games where there is more socializing that thinking, proved quite surprising. The entire group (5 mostly non-players and me), about half-way through the game they were loving it and wanted to play it again. (BTW - I did play the basic game, playing only the basic maps and Universal Corporation boards. Also did not use the Event and Objective cards. But, my limited experience has said that occasional gamers who play mostly fast card games (Skip-Bo, UNO, etc.) did really love this game!!

Marc - I owned and enjoyed Flamme Rouge. IMO - Heat far exceeds FR and thus demoted it to the "for sale" list. I am absolutely taken by Heat. And the public is fast creating other Grand Prix tracks to print and enjoy. It's HOT and it's a WINNER!

NICK - Loved your podcast. First time listener. Will be back!

Haha, true true. It’s definitely worth trying sometime (perhaps at a convention), just to see which one you would rather own.
